Welcome to the web gallery of Ricardo Gomez. Ricardo creates images with an interpretation of reality close to Picasso. Ricardo loves to use bold generous colors.
Ricardo started out creating tribal "mask" art done with acrylics on palm tree fronds in December 2007. His next endeavor was acrylics on canvas in late December 2007. His first gallery show was shortly thereafter, in June 2008.
The Art of Ricardo Gallery is located at 2102 Bay Area Blvd., Houston, Texas, 281-488-5558. There are about 15 originals located at the Gallery at any given time and prints are available for purchase, both framed and unframed.

Artist's Statement:
I have dabbled in different media all my life, picked up brush and acrylics in
December 2007 and found my true love! I use bold colors and paint with lots of
movement in my images. People tell me that my style is similar to Picasso. I
prefer large canvases and shiny bold colors.
Three of my pieces, Dreams of Jamaica, Mellow and A Moment of Contemplation, are
in the fall 2008 Direct Art magazine, Spiritual Heart was in the Arts Alliance
of Clear Lake Summer Series 2008, Mellow was in the Freeman Memorial Library
Summer Series 2008 and Mo was in the Freeman Memorial Library Winter Series
2008.
Dreams of Jamaica was chosen to be included in The Violin Case 2009 calendar through www.theviolincase.com. Dreams of Jamaica was in a Los Angeles gallery for one year and is now back in Houston and displayed on the wall at my Gallery.
Now that I have
my own gallery, Art of Ricardo Gallery in Houston, Texas, I have my studio there
am there painting everyday!
